Kez + Chez eloped to Byron last week in the true sense of the term - just the two of them, amongst the idyllic coastal forest leaves 🍃
Their families are so happy for them and I have been quietly sitting back *bursting* to share because this was one killer day I'll always grin about! They picked perfection venue, @crystalbrookbyron and @victoriafitzgibbon busy on blooms. Erin + Erica of @marganphotography spent the day photographing them enjoying the beach, their leisurely breakfast and, later, wedding preparation and proceedings. As the stars came out, they also captured them sharing a romantic supper overlooking the rainforest, serenaded by the incredible @danielle_guest_music . @birdandboyphotography filmed the stellar day. I could not believe how well they did things 》it was all genuinely for each other and it blew me away. Sometimes we get caught up in work, worries, small thoughts - but they showed me how easy and essential it is to honour your dreams, because it is the highest form of gratitude and love.

🫙🎁 Bonboniere idea 💡
Wedding gifts for your guests ~ Italian weddings traditionally give silk bags filled with sugar-coated almonds and there are so many unique ideas for wedding favours. One couple I worked with made their own mandarin-cello liqueur (amazing!) and decanted it into gorgeous personalised bottles, with each guests name on each label- so the gift served as a table setting/name place as well - clever! This clip is me, with my happy little belly resting on the bench, making ROSELLA JAM. I grew these myself (both my belly and the rosellas!) and rosellas are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, they also contain centres that, when boiled, make a natural pectin. So, apart from 1 lemon and some sugar, they were quite simple to convert to a tart, delicious jam. Hit me up if you'd like the super easy recipe! I am also more than happy to send seeds if you want to grow your own. xx

Simple elopement ceremony for J + B today on my property! A first for me, very excited to see them married after them booking me 5 years ago. Good things come to those who wait 🥰

Brad & Sarah ✨️ Along the journey, three years

Brad & Sarah ✨️ Along the journey, three years into their relationship, they almost eloped to Hawaii, when Brad had a stroke and they very quickly faced the unavoidable challenges that presented them with.
Together, they overcome so much and whilst Sarah was blown away with the way Brad always remained positive on his recovery journey to learn to speak and walk all over again, Brad was also amazed at Sarah’s strength to support him on a journey to recover his health.
They are a match made in heaven 🪷

Not only did they let me be their Celebrant for their ceremony at stunning @crystalbrookbyron, they also sent me these gorgeous words:

Whilst they look well-behaved, sweet and innocent, let me assure you that they are FUN and the brief for Liam + Amanda's ceremony was to make sure the wedding felt like a celebration. And it was explosively so! I'd love to take the credit for it all - but they are the magic and my involvement is bliss when a couple trust me. They also wrote KILLER vows, fave lines being:

📣Staged vs Organic: you plan your day, and then it unfolds - your team of suppliers execute that plan. Invariably, a few things happen that are not part of the plan, but IMO they are the raw beautiful moments and shouldn't be tampered with.
Most of the time, a full rehearsal isn't necessary, a walk through of the entrance can help though. I will phone you both the week or so prior to your day and discuss how the ceremony will happen for you logistically, which takes away that fear of the unknown and helps you relax into the day. A full rehearsal can take away the spontaneous elements, so it's better to trust that your team will deliver. Yes, it is a leap of faith, but I promise you, in 16 years of marrying people, it is the couples who trust that can let go and enjoy their day.
On the day, I'll never interfere with organic moments to stage things - for example I'm not going to direct flowergirls to their seats if they want to hug their dad! Hugs are the best. I'm not going to carry on if you desperately need a tissue. You ain't thinking about love if you be sniffin teary snot!
Experienced Celebrants and suppliers will hold you properly - support but not get awkwardly involved when a beautiful moment is taking place.

📣 Guests taking photos during the ceremony. Here's a few considerations:

♤ Do you want your guests photographed on their phones in your professional photos?

♤ Weigh up the presence of your guests in the moment. Will their hearts be connected to framing an image, or what is taking place?

♤ What actually happens to all our phone snaps? Are they valued, at all?

♤ Do you feel self-conscious being filmed and photographed? Walking into your ceremony with a sea of phones poised can be overwhelming.

Dr Seuss said it best: "Sometimes you don’t know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory."

I'll politely let guests know they can snap away post ceremony, but the ceremony is the moment to tuck away phones and cameras, and watch with their eyes and hearts.

I love the drama of a wedding day; emotions are high, time speeds up, so much to do, so many plans being executed with many hands on deck. A rainy morning cleared to reveal Mt Warning in all it's grandeur, but to keep things edgy, rain fell for about 25 seconds the moment Treasa reached Nathan. It politely cooled us down and then, shazam, it disappeared for their ceremony full of love and laughs. Treasa's best friend gave a verrrry perfect Irish Blessing, and Nathan delivered quite the kiss at the end - guests were roaring + cheering.
